Calaveras County To Lose Eradication Grant

The battle against pot growers in Calaveras County took a blow yesterday. Law enforcement has lost it´s grant funding used to eradicate marijuana-growing operations in the county.
Sheriff Dennis Downum says the department will no longer receive the nearly $198,000 for the program.
Downum says though disappointed, he knew the grant could be pulled from the county. The Money comes from the state Office of Criminal Justice Planning.
The three-year grant runs out at the end of the year.
