Chamber Awards Sonora Inn

The Sonora Quality Inn has been named the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce “Pioneer Hall of Fame” recipient for 2002.

The recognition is given each year to the longest on-going member of the chamber.

Past recipients include Hales and Symons, A & L Ready Mix and Sonora Community Hospital, last year’s winner.

According to the chamber, the Sonora Inn, formerly the Victoria Hotel, has been a chamber member since December 31, 1921.

The award will be presented Thursday, November 21 during the chamber’s annual installation and honors banquet at the Sonora Elks Lodge.

Presentations for Citizen of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in Government and Teacher of the year will also be presented that night. Those winners are kept secret until that evening.
