Trustees To Consider Developer Fees

Approving an increase in developer fees is on tap during the Sonora Union High School District Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday night.

The board is expected to approve raising the current fees residential, commercial and industrial developers must pay when building new projects.

The state gave a go-ahead to increase the fees in January. The increase locally to $2.14 per square-foot for residential development and 34-cents per square-foot for commercial/industrial development, will put the district in line with other districts throughout California.

Locally, the previous amounts were $2.05 per square-foot for residential and 33-cents per square-foot for new commercial and industrial.

Money collected through developer fees is used by the high school district to fund it´s own facilities building and remodeling projects.

The trustees meet at 6 p.m. in the Sonora High School Library.
