No Fireworks Allowed In County

A reminder on the eve of the Independence Day holiday, fireworks are not allowed in Tuolumne County and parts of Calaveras County.
The holiday, combined with heat and low humidity, have firefighters on high alert in campgrounds and other popular Mother Lode hot spots.
From San Diego to Redding, fire officials are urging residents to attend organized fireworks or lazer light shows, such as the one at Christian Heights Church in Sonora, this fourth.
CDF fire chief Fred McVay says extreme fire conditions in the region make any use of fire dangerous. Contact your local fire station for more information about fireworks laws.
All burn permits are suspended, as well.
