A Driving Note From Jamestown CHP

With a series of winter storms expected to hit the motherlode this week the CHP is asking all area drivers to take precautions against slippery road conditions. Be sure to bring chains and be prepared to use them. One way to avoid creating a traffic jam is to install them on the side of the roadway.
Because of the icy conditions, using chains will be the only way to get through the frozen road surfaces, that includes four wheel drive vehicles.
A note to employees and employers: be sure to leave a little early to work to overcome traffic delays caused by the weather. Careful driving habits will also help you get through the next few days as well.
