Clinton Has Sharp Words On Recall

Sponsored by:

Former President Clinton had some sharp criticism for the California gubernatorial recall during an appearance today in Monterey. He warned that the Republican-funded initiative could inflict “serious long-term damage, not only to California, but to democracy.”

Clinton also blasted a fledgling movement to oust the Republican governor of Nevada, Kenny Guinn, who imposed tax increases to cope with dramatic rises in class sizes in the nation’s fastest growing state.

Clinton said the purpose of democratic elections was to give politicians several years in office to solve complicated problems and even make unpopular decisions.

Clinton also repeatedly blasted the Bush administration for sticking to its agenda of tax cuts, calling it “nuts”.
