Davis Churning Out Judicial Nominations

Sponsored by:

Governor Davis hadn´t filled a judicial vacancy in months, but he began to churn them out the day the recall election was certified. The Democratic governor appointed another three judges today.

Legal experts say he´s driving to fill all judicial vacancies before the October 7 recall vote. Davis has made 15 appointments since the recall was certified on July 23.

Two days before the election became official, Davis made his first judicial appointment since April 3.

There are 48 remaining vacancies on the state´s 1,600-member bench. A Davis spokeswoman says the slew of appointments “has absolutely nothing to do with the recall.”
