High Speed Chase Ends In Arrest

A Twain Harte man was arrested for drunk driving and evading a police officer last night after leading a California Highway Patrol officer on a high-speed chase through Tuolumne County.
The CHP says the pursuit of 67 year-old Robert Wright Junior eastbound on Highway 108 began around Lakeview Drive and reached speeds of 80 miles an hour. Wright€™s truck reportedly veered into oncoming traffic several times. He finally lost control on a curve at Old Strawberry Road, hit a tree, spun around, and slid down an embankment. The truck came to a stop upside down.
Wright was arrested at Tuolumne General Hospital after receiving treatment for cuts to his left leg and some back pain.
