Lockyer Challenges Bush Proposal

State Attorney General Bill Lockyer is challenging the Bush Adminstration´s proposal to relax clean air rules.
Lockyer says the Bush proposal jeopardizes the progress California has made to produce clear skies here in this state. The Attorney General also says the Bush plan endangers the state´s stringent program to reduce emissions from older facilities that produce more air pollution.
Lockyer filed a petition today challenging the President´s plan.
Lockyer says the Administration can “dress up” its policies “by calling them ´Healthy Forests´ and ´Clear Skies.´ We´re not fooled. And we´re not lying down.”
