West Point Man Faces Narcotics Charges

A West Point man is behind bars on narcotics charges.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s office says 39-year-old Steven Cowart was stopped for a minor traffic violation in West Point. Officers say Cowart tried to flee, but was caught after a short chase. Authorities say he was in possession of methamphetamine and a large amount of marijuana.
He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on $83,000 bail.
