Mystery Illness Hits San Francisco

Health officials in San Francisco are reporting the city€™s first suspected case of the mystery illness that has killed about 60 people outside the United States.

The city resident fell ill Saturday with what is believed to be severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, and remained hospitalized today in good condition. At least 9 other people in the Bay Area, including four in Santa Clara County, are suspected of having the illness.

As of Friday, there were 16 suspected SARS cases throughout California and 69 cases nationwide.
