Apple Growers Look To Mexican Markets

Apple growers and shippers hope to re-establish sales to Mexico this year. The Mexican government has halted apple imports because it wants to guard against certain apple pests…even though those pests do not existed in California.
The California Apple Commission is working to develop fruit exporting rules that Mexico will accept. Marketers say Mexico would be a promising market for several California apple varieties.
