Kerry in California, Pushes Health Plan

Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry visited a public hospital in San Mateo to push his plan for fixing the nation´s battered health care system. The senator from Massachusetts toured the emergency room and pediatrics department at San Mateo Medical Center yesterday.
Kerry´s plan to make health care affordable includes a provision to boost government subsidies for catastrophic illnesses. He also wants to cut administrative costs and require pharmacy benefit managers to bring down the cost of prescription drugs.
He says health care in the world´s richest nation should be a right, not a privilege.
