Additional Help Called In To Copper Fire

Fire officials are asking residents and passers-by to not to stop along the roadways at the fire burning in the Highway 4 area of Calaveras County near Copperopolis. Law enforcement is enroute to get people out of the area.
The fire is off Chuckwagon and Calistoga Roads in the Diamond 20 subdivision. It was first reported after 5 o´clock. As of 6:30 p.m., the fire had burnt nearly 30 acres in grass and oak woodland vegetation. The fire is spotting ahead of itself, causing the blaze to spread quickly.
Aircraft from CDF Columbia Air Attack base were sent to battle the fire. Another air tanker and additional firefighters have been called to help in the battle.
