Evacuations Ordered Due To Burson Fire

The CDF says over 1500 acres have burned so far, after an RV caught fire, and the fire spread into nearby brush.

The location is at Pattison Road at the South Camanche Parkway near Burson in northwest Calaveras County, and lots of smoke is reportedly visible around Calaveras County.

Four houses have reportedly been lost so far, but officials say many more are being saved.

Six air tankers and four helicopters are working the blaze. Firefighters and the California Highway Patrol are at the scene, and the Stanislaus Hot Shot fire crew has also been dispatched.

Structure protection has become the priority.

The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department and California Highway Patrol office in San Andreas are now saying some areas are being evacuated, including:

Evans Road

Lucky Road

Ross Drive

Dakota Drive

Dickenson Court

Gregory Road

Silver Rapids

area North of Baldwin St

The CHP says the Old Burson Fire House is being used as a shelter at this time, and Valley Springs Elementary and Toyon Middle Schools are also now places where evacuees can go.

The CHP and Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department report the following road closures due to the fire:

Hwy 26 closed at La Contenta

Hwy 26 closed at Jenny lind

Burson Road closed at Highway 12

Burson Road at closed Pattison Road

Firefighters and the California Highway Patrol are at the scene of the blaze, and the Stanislaus Hot Shot fire crew has also been dispatched.

The head of the fire has reached Highway 26, near La Contenta Golf Club in the Valley Springs area.

Structures are reportedly threatened, but there´s no word on any structures which have been lost.
