Several firefighters have been injured battling the Tuolumne Fire Sunday afternoon. Firefighters are battling the fire in a remote section of the Stanislaus National Forest, about 11 miles east of Groveland.

U.S. Forest Service spokesman Pat Kaunert says the fire is burning in the Tuolumne River Canyon on the south side of the Tuolumne River between the river and Cherry Oil Road near Lumsden Camp.

Two firefighters have been burned and one firefighter was reported missing batting this blaze. Kaurnert says he did not know the extent of the injuries at this time.

The fire was first reported around 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Kaunert says at this time the fire is not a threat to any communities. Smoke from the fire is seen from around the region.

The CHP says Highway 120 is subject to closure at the Rim of the World area near at Buck Meadows. Watch for traffic control in the area.
