Possible Homicide In Avery

Calaveras County Sheriff deputies investigating a possible homicide in Avery this morning.
Sheriff spokeswoman Debbie Parsons says deputies found a white male adult in the parking lot in front of Avery Tire Center this morning just after 6:30 a.m. The emergency call went out as a medical aid for a shooting victim.
The man was confirmed dead at the scene with a wound to the forehead. Parsons says authorities are not releasing any more information about the incident, or the identity of the man.
The area is condoned off from the Avery Hotel to Highway 4 during the investigation. No word on how long the area will be closed.
