Mother Lode fire crews kept busy over the weekend.

A brush fire Saturday afternoon in the La Grange area destroyed three storage sheds, but a near by home was spared.

Firefighters and air tankers were called to 4700 block Zorro Road off Avenita Lugo around 2 p.m. Saturday. Fire officials say the blaze burnt two acres of grass was contained 30 minutes later. Damage to the outbuildings and contents estimated at $2,000. Cause of the fire was a leaky fuel line on motorcycle.

Then fire officials say Saturday night a second fire was reported in the same area off Zorro Road. This time three more out buildings were damaged by a blaze which was reported just before 11 p.m. Saturday night causing $2,000 damage.

A vehicle fire at the La Grange Off Road Park spread into the surrounding grass at noontime Saturday, but the fire was quickly extinguished before it got out of hand.

Sunday morning a small fire along Highway 108 and J-59 was sparked when a pick up truck lost a tire.

Sunday afternoon a traffic accident on Highway 4 Copper Grade near O´Byrnes Ferry Road sparked a small grass fire. It was quickly handled by fire crews.
