Lowe’s Comes To Sonora

Lowe´s Home Improvement Center is coming to Sonora.

Mike Jones of California Gold Development made the announcement Wednesday, on behalf of the developer, Sonora Developers LLC, a joint partnership of California Gold Development and the Ray Sanguinetti Family.

The new Lowe´s Home Improvement Center will be located at 126 Old Wards Ferry Road, on a 15-acre plot of land which is better known as the Old Slaughterhouse property.

Lowe´s is expected to employ more than 150 people in its 116,000 square foot operation. The store should also have a major impact on the city´s tax base.

Groundbreaking is expected in the spring, and completion is targetted for late 2005 or early 2006.

There are 62 Lowe´s Home Improvement Center locations in the state of California.
