Columbia College Names Interim VP for Student Services

Dr. Judith Redwine joins Columbia College as the interim vice president for student services, as announced recently by Dr. Jim Riggs, the college´s president.

Dr. Redwine will supervise the school´s student support services on an interim basis and replaces Dr. Kathryn Jeffery, who accepted a position as chief campus administrator of the Charleston campus of the Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN) in Las Vegas.

Prior to coming to Columbia, Dr. Redwine retired last year after serving for four years as chancellor of the State Center Community College District. The district, which includes Fresno City College, Reedley College, Clovis Center, Madera Center and Oakhurst Center, covers four counties in approximately 5,580 square miles with an enrollment of more than 35,000 students and about 1,000 full-time and 1,500 part-time employees.

She was previously president of Black Hawk College, a comprehensive community college district in Illinois, consisting of two main campuses with enrollments of 14,000 credit and 10,000 non-credit students.

Among her other professional credits are positions as vice president/chancellor and dean of Ivy Tech State College (formerly Indiana Vocational Technical College); academic program officer of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education; director of extended programs, associate professor of education, director of elementary education and assistant professor of education at Indiana University; research and training assistant at University of Notre Dame; and mathematics and science teacher/department chair in Illinois schools.

Dr. Redwine holds a bachelor´s degree in mathematics from Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan and both master´s and doctorate in educational administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
