The highway patrol says failed brakes is the reason a tour bus crashed into another bus east of Sonora Saturday evening, injuring 24 persons.

CHP spokesman Tom Wills says the two buses, were carrying about 74 San Jose area people back from a church snow trip when one of the buses lost it´s brakes and rear-ended the other at a stoplight on Highway 108 at Soulsbyville Road about 5:30 yesterday.

The CHP says the bus had just come down the Twain Harte grade and was traveling at around 30 miles per hour when it hit the stopped bus at the intersection.
