Teen Alive After Weekend DUI Wreck

Sponsored by:

A Calaveras County teenager is lucky to be alive after a single-vehicle wreck which could have been much more tragic.

CHP officials yesterday arrested a 14-year-old girl from Arnold on DUI charges after she hit a power pole, a rock, and a propane tank.

It happened Sunday afternoon.

The teenage girl was southbound on Crystal Way in Arnold when she went off the right-hand edge of the road, and then overcorrected, crossing the center line.

The girl was taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital for her injuries, and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Officials say a complaint is being filed with the Calaveras County District Attorney´s office.
