Environmental Groups File Intent To Sue Regarding Hogan Reservoir

Calaveras County, CA — The Calaveras County Water District may be in hot water following a complaint filed by four environmental and sport fishing groups.
The complaint was filed with the state Water Resource Control Board. Also named in the complaint are Stockton East Water District and other operators of New Hogan Reservoir.
The complaint and threat to file suit, comes from the groups´ dissatisfaction with the population of spawning fish which has dropped dramatically in recent years because of insufficient stream flows at critical times.
Larry Diamond, with CCWD, says the complaint contained serious errors and believes the state will deny the petition.
