San Francisco, CA –Bay area airports are expecting more passengers to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday this year.

Mineta San Jose International Airport is projecting a two percent increase in total passenger volume over last year, during the six days the airport refers to as the Thanksgiving travel period.

San Francisco International Airport is expecting approximately one million passengers. That´s a four percent increase in travelers from last year.

San Francisco counts eight days as part of the holiday. And Oakland International Airport is expecting its busiest Thanksgiving holiday travel season ever, with a 3 percent increase in total passengers over last year´s Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

The projected increase in passenger volume over the holiday is part of an overall trend of increasing passenger volume at all three airports.

Each of the three airports designate a slightly different collection of days as Thanksgiving travel days, and none of the airports have the same single busiest Thanksgiving travel day.
