Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Police are providing few details about the arrest of a man and woman arrested in connection with the killing of a California Highway Patrol officer.

During a press conference this morning, police say they arrested the two suspects around 3:00 this morning after they walked out of a hotel in Rocklin, a community outside of Sacramento.

Police did not release the names of the two suspects. The arrests come after Officer Andy Stevens was shot and killed near Woodland yesterday afternoon.

Stevens had made a traffic stop near the intersection of County Road 96 at Highway 16 when the shooting took place. Woodland is 15 miles northwest of Sacramento.

The 37-year-old officer was a 13-year C-H-P veteran. Officer Stevens was married and had no children.
