Fed-Up Drivers Struggle To Escape Gas Trap

Sonora, CA — AAA of Northern California says it knows that high gas prices have people fuming, however they have decided to examine drivers´ attitudes about our reliance on gasoline and the exploration of other solutions.

Participants in the AAA survey overwhelmingly blamed oil companies and the federal government for not doing enough to reduce gasoline dependence. People took a hard look at themselves as well, with 81 percent agreeing they could be doing more.

Car manufacturers did not escape blame either, with 79 percent of respondents saying that automakers have been too slow to develop and sell hybrid vehicles.

To help build awareness of all the new alternative fuels and vehicles available, AAA is launching the Greenlight Initiative. This month, information about Greenlight and hybrids will be available at all AAA offices.
