Wine and Cheese Event To Benefit “Movie Star” Locomotive

Jamestown, CA — Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown will host a “Wine and Cheese Benefit” event this Saturday.

Organizers say the event´s highlight will be a leisurely train ride through the scenic Sierra foothills, with fine wines and tasty cheeses served along the way.

The event will benefit the restoration of historic “movie star” steam locomotive No. 3, which has been called “the most recognized locomotive in the world.”

Featured in more than 200 motion pictures and television episodes, the locomotive is best known for its appearances in “Petticoat Junction” and “Back to the Future III.” The cost is $25 per person to ride the Wine and Cheese Train and $15 for wine tasting, music and silent auction only. The festivities get underway at 4:30pm.
