Truck Driver Avoids 40 Foot Drop

Columbia, CA — A truck driver is unhurt after jumping out of the cab of his moving truck before it went over a 40-foot embankment on Parrots Ferry Road yesterday.
Tom Wills of the CHP says traffic was down to one lane on the road about five miles north of Marble Quarry Road for an hour while crews retrieved the cement truck.
The driver of the truck says the cause of the accident was brake failure; however Wills says an investigation will take place.
Inmate crews were also brought out to help clear the vegetation to make it easier to remove the tuck as well as the concrete barrel.
