High Risk’ Warrant Nets 2 Arrests

The service of a high risk search warrant late last month yielded the arrest of two suspects on firearms-related charges.

That word was released today by the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department. They, in conjunction with the Angels Camp Police Department and the Amador County Sheriff´s Department, went to an address on the 900-block of Stanley Road in West Point. They were led to the address during an investigation involving an assault with a deadly weapon where the victims were allegedly struck several times with the stock end of a shotgun.

31-year-old Clive Benjamin Gibbings the Third of West point was arrested for possessing a firearm with a past conviction of domestic violence. 46-year-old William Michael Janssen on West Point was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Both suspects were booked into the Calaveras County Jail on felony charges, and both are being held on $15,000 bails.
