Task Force Continues Debate Over EDC

The end date for the Task Force that´s evaluating the Economic Development Company of Tuolumne County is getting close.

And even though the Task Force last Wednesday voted not to disband and provide a single set of recommendations to the County Board of Supervisors, the group did go their separate ways after last week´s meeting, and the tension is said to be mounting.

Sonora City Councilman Hank Russell and Tuolumne County District Two Supervisor Paolo Maffei are ex-officio members of the task force, meaning they can contribute but not vote. Russell went on record a few weeks ago with the city council, describing the group´s lack of progress was dysfunctional.

The latest Board of Supervisors Agenda lists March 1st as the date of the EDC´s Quarterly Report presentation.

The formulation of the recommendations for the Board continued over the weekend, and the Task Force´s next meeting comes Wednesday evening.
