After a weeklong visit to the motherlode, the cast and crew of the new NBC series “Three Wishes” is gone, but not before making several area residents very happy.

The show granted it´s third wish Saturday night at a concert by the show´s co-host, pop singer Amy Grant. The final wish was granted to the Wertz family as Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Deputy Tim Wertz finalized the adoption of his 13-year-old step-son Bobby during a private ceremony on stage.

Earlier in the week, the show´s producers granted two other wishes. The first wish was granted Wednesday to ten-year-old Abby Castleberry who was severely injured in a car accident earlier this year. She was the recipient of a brand new rehabilitation room courtesy of the show.

And on Thursday, co-host Carter Oosterhouse made a spectacular entrance before a full house at Sonora High School´s Dunlavy Field to announce that the football field will be replaced with a revolutionary new type of artificial turf. The pilot episode of “Three Wishes” is expected to air this summer, then NBC network officials will decide whether to put it in the fall lineup.
