Mother Lode Hospitals Can Bill The Government For Care

Sponsored by:

Sononra, CA — Hospitals in the Mother Lode will now be able to charge the federal government for the emergency care they provide to illegal immigrants.

According to Mark Twain St Josephs Hospital, they do not treat many illegal immigrants; however, they do care for foreign tourists.

Hospital representative Larry Cornish said that the Federal Government is not responsible for reimbursing hospitals for treating foreign tourists, even if they do not have insurance.

Cornish said that the money provided by the state would not directly affect the Hospitals in this area, yet he does not rule out a rise in the treatment of illegal immigrants in the near future.

In the mean time Cornish said that the Hospital does not have many cases where foreigners refuse to pay for their care.
