“WoodyFest 2005” To Raise Funds For Twain Harte Fire Department

Sponsored by:

Twain Harte, CA — What was once a common sight at American beaches in the 1940s and 50s will make a reappearance on the streets of Twain Harte this weekend.

At least 20 wood paneled classic cars and boats are expected to turn out for Woodyfest 2005 to raise funds for the Twain Harte Fire Department. Organizer Steve Kurgan says this year´s show will be the biggest ever.

Kurgan says the Santa Cruz Woodies Car Club will be there, along with a 1950 Kris Craft boat and a 1947 Higgins boat. The fire department will also be barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers.

Organizers hope to raise at least $5000 to outfit a new fire truck the department will be getting this summer. There will also be a raffle for a queen-sized log bed and numerous other prizes.

The event runs from ten to three tomorrow in downtown Twain Harte.
