Tuttletown, CA — Investigators are seeking the cause of a structure fire that completely destroyed a fifth-wheel travel trailer near Tuttletown overnight.

Debra Keenan of the Tuolumne County Fire District says the structure was located on land owned by Daniel Shanahan of Sonora, and had been occupied by Donald Funk for about 2 years.

Keenan says Funk was in the trailer at the time. Funk reportedly had no phone service which prevented him from calling 911. Officials say neighbors called in the report when they saw the glow in the sky.

Authorities say they were concerned with the fire´s location near a gas station and a wooded area. Investigators say Funk was able to get out of the trailer unharmed.

Officials say the total loss was estimated at about $5000.
