Tulloch Decision Reversed

San Andreas, CA — Transferring density from underwater parcels in Calaveras County could soon be illegal.

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 on Monday to initiate a General Plan amendment that would no longer allow land owned beneath the water to count towards the allowable density on a parcel.

Close to 200 people showed up to the special meeting and 10 of them offered their opinions on the matter.

This is the beginning of the public hearing process to create the new policy.

Any applications currently being processed would not be affected.

Supervisor Tom Tryon, who voted against the ban, says this is part of a larger effort to curb building over the lake and set a maximum parcel size for lakeside development.
