Sonora, Ca — Chairs are already lined up along the streets of downtown Sonora in preparation for tonight´s Christmas Parade.

Sgt. Glenn Roberts with the Sonora PD says it is a good idea to come out as early as possible. Roberts note´s that the parade route was extended a few years back in order to make sure more residents have a good view of the many entrants. The Parade will begin at the Red Church and travel all the way to Restano Way.

Roberts says residents should remember that roads will be congested tonight, especially as the kids wait to see Santa Claus.

The largest intersection that will be blocked of is at Stockton Rd., and Forrest Rd. Roberts says anyone wishing to go north to Columbia or to Angels Camp will need to follow the detour signs.

The parade will begin at 5:30pm. Approximately 75 entrants are expected.
