Sonora, CA — No doubt about it … the Tuolumne County Sheriff-Coroner´s race is too close to call.

When election headquarters in Sonora turned out the lights Tuesday evening, Jim Mele had 50.32 percent of the vote … Tom Memmer; 48.98 percent. County Clerk and Auditor Debbie Russell stated that approximately 2,500 absentee ballots are still to be counted along with 285 provisional ballots.

Other key races: Teri Murrison wrapped up the Tuolumne County District Three supervisorial position with a decisive 35 percent margin of victory over Philip Balbuena … Pat Dean will return to the Yosemite Community College Board of Trustees for another term following an easy victory over Jeff Craft … Joseph Day and Delbert Rotelli gained the two open positions with the Tuolumne Utility District … Jeff Gempler walked away with a three year term and Dave Gookin a one year term with the Big Oak Flat Unified School District … Linda DuTemple, David Peters and Marcia Williams gained three full term seats in the Summerville Union High School District …

Calaveras County; Russ Thomas unseated incumbent Victoria Erickson by 11 percentage points for the District 5 supervisorial posiiton … incumbent Paul Raggio and challenger Jack Lynch gained two four year terms on the Angels Camp City Council … Challenger Gail Bunge and incumbent Joan Lark won two four year terms with the Bret Harte Union High School District … Challenger Evan Geramendi wrapped up the Calaveras Unified School District Board seat with a 24 percent margin of victory over Gerri Conway and the Calaveras Unified School District needed 55% of the vote to pass Measure A … the final number; 55.17%.
