Sponsored by:

Strawberry, CA — A Saturday morning fire caused approximately $30,000 damage to a 1,000 square foot, two-story vacation residence in Strawberry.

C.D.F.-Tuolumne County Fire Department, the U.S. Forest Service, Strawberry Fire Protection District, MiWuk-Sugar Pine Fire Protection District and the Twain Harte Community Service District Fire Department all responded to the flue fire at the home owned by Kenneth Fultz and Clay Nibler of Modesto.

C.D.F. officials report the structure did not have smoke detectors or proper vegetation clearance. No injuries were reported.

Tuolumne County – C.D.F. Fire Marshall Kary Hubbard adds that new owners and real estate agents be aware that working smoke detection units must be installed and in proper working order in the sale of any structure.
