Become A Master In The Garden

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Gardening enthusiasts looking to master their craft will have a chance to do so next week.

The University of California Cooperative Extension is hosting training classes that cover botany, soil and water management, entomology, weed identification, fruit tree care and more.

Orientation for the classes is October 19.

Gardeners who complete a 50-hour training course and pass a written examination qualify to become a Master Gardener. Master Gardeners are volunteers of the UC system who in their first year must commit 50 volunteer hours.

The classes are held every Thursday at the Central Library in San Andreas.

For more information or to attend the orientation, contact the UC Cooperative Extension office at (209) 754-6477.
