Murrison & Balbuena Vye For District Three Supervisor

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Grant writer Teri Murrison and real rstate agent and retired general building contractor Philip Balbuena enjoyed the opportunity to speak to the public Monday evening at the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce´s Candidates Night at the County Administration Center.

Murrison stated that she has the needed experience in local government to serve her district in a progressive and professional manner. She stressed that Tuolumne County needs to grow but only to the degree that it does not corrupt the unique lifestyle of the Mother Lode. She declined to take a stand on the proposed Mountain Springs project issue.

Balbuena, for his part, cited a lack of leadership in the county. He stressed that his platform includes open and honest communication along with prioritizing spending. He added the county budget must become more open and transparent to the public. With an increase in public awareness, Balbuena feels that wasteful spending would be eliminated. Finally, Balbuena stated that business should be encouraged to locate in Tuolumne County in order to increase the overall tax base.

The general election is set for Tuesday, November 7.
