Vegetation Fire In Stanislaus National Forest Still Going

Sponsored by:

Stanislaus National Forest, CA –A vegetation fire from early this morning on U.S. Forest Service land still remains at 13 acres.

According to Stanislaus National Forest Spokesman Jerry Snyder, firefighters have been hampered in reaching the 13 acre vegetation fire in the south county because of the Lumpston Rd. washout.

The fire was initially reported Friday at 7pm. At this time there does not appear to be any imminent danger to residents or structures in the extremely isolated area of south Tuolumne County.

The fire is located between the Tuolumne River and the Clavey River in the Stanislaus National Forest. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.

CDF officials do not have a containment time; however they have kept the blaze at this size for several hours.
