StandardStandard is located a few miles east of Sonora. It is undefined as a town, although East Sonora is on the Northside of Highway 108 has a defined population of 2,050. Soulsbyville on the Southside of Highway 108 is more East of Standard with a population of 2,008. Standard blends with Sonora along Highway 108 and over off Tuolumne Road heading out to Tuolumne. Curtis Creek is the elementary school in the Standard area and students in the area attend Summerville High School, view the school boundaries here. Standard draws huge crowds to events at the Standard Park Sports Complex. In the summer the four baseball fields are converted into eight or more soccer areas for Tuolumne County Youth Soccer. The annual Santa Fly-In is held at Standard Park.

History of Standard

Standard is currently at the end of the Sierra Railroad, the tracks continue to Tuolumne but are no longer used. The Sierra Railroad Company was launched in 1897 to connect the Gold Country with the world. It is the third oldest railroad in North America.
