Sacramento, CA — A new Field Poll shows Hillary Clinton has pull in California. The Poll found strong support for former Secretary of State Clinton among California voters and a possible run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2016.

In all, 56 percent of those asked gave a positive opinion of her and 30 percent a negative one. In fact, the poll found more voters across all demographic groups in the state have a favorable rather than unfavorable opinion of Clinton. Democrats view her positively nearly eight to one, and those with no major party preference favor her two-to-one. In regards to gender, five in every three or 55% to 33% of men in the state give her good ratings. It is even higher for women at 58%to 28%. The only voter groups which had a higher disapproval then approval ratio were Republicans and conservatives.

One note: those surveyed were not asked whether they would vote for her in a presidential contest. The poll was based on telephone interviews with 846 registered voters from June 26 to July 21 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
