Drought-Relief Bill Moves To Assembly

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — The Governor’s drought-relief plan will be heading to the California Legislature.

The $687 million drought-relief plan won fast approvals in the state Assembly and Senate budget committees. The legislation is now set for floor votes.

As reported earlier, the money would support several areas of drought relief including capturing and managing storage of water. There is also funding for emergency drinking water supplies.

The Governor unveiled his legislation last Wednesday, and Republicans quickly countered with their own water bond proposal the next day. As reported earlier, it would provide funding for water storage, groundwater, Delta restoration, water quality, and drought relief projects statewide.
