911 call from fatal nightclub beating released
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) -- Police have released a 911 call from a fight outside a Southern California nightclub that left a 23-year-old woman dead.
The call released Wednesday was placed by a woman who was watching friends try to revive Annie Hung Kim Pham as she lay unconscious outside the club.
Prosecutors and police say two women punched, kicked and pummeled Pham in a fight in the early morning hours of Jan. 18 outside a popular night spot called The Crosby in downtown Santa Ana.
Vanesa Zavala and Candace Brito have pleaded not guilty to murder in Pham's death.
In the 911 call, the woman tells a dispatcher that Pham is breathing but unconscious and her friends are crying.
The caller says she didn't see the fight but was asked to call 911.
