Authorities search near Hollywood Bowl for suspect
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies are searching the hills around the Hollywood Bowl for a suspect in the killing of a Texas man found dead in a motel room nearly two weeks ago.
Authorities acting on a tip fanned out in the Hollywood Hills early Tuesday as they continue to hunt for 54-year-old Oscar Bridges.
City News Service says Bridges is wanted in connection with the stabbing death of 21-year-old Robert Brewer at a motel in South LA on Jan. 23.
Sheriff's officials described Bridges as a registered sex offender with an extensive criminal history.
Deputies are questioning local merchants and motel managers. Investigators say Bridges was known to frequent motels in the Hollywood and West Hollywood areas.
He is described as black, 6 feet 2 and 180 pounds, with black hair he wears in dreadlocks.
