ATF waits to interview man hurt by weekend blast
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Federal investigators are waiting to talk with a man who blew off his hand with a powerful firework while driving in a north Spokane neighborhood over the weekend.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives declined to release the man's name on Monday. Agency spokeswoman Cheryl Bishop says they are waiting for the man to be medically cleared so they can interview him.
The ATF has taken over investigation of the case from the Spokane Police Department.
The explosion of an M-1000 firecracker occurred early Saturday morning inside a moving vehicle in a Spokane neighborhood.
