Schwarzenegger Creates Economic Development Agency
Sacramento, CA -- California is hoping to make it easier to do business in the state.
Governor Schwarzenegger has signed legislation to create a new Office of Economic Development.
"I think that this is a great, great step forward to make it easier for businesses to come here and do business," says Schwarzenegger. "It means cutting through the red tape and streamlining state bureaucracy."
"We're coordinating more than 100 programs across 28 state departments and creating basically one office, a one stop shop, a concierge service, so to speak, in order to make it easy," he adds.
Joel Ayala, a past president and CEO of the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed the Director of the new agency.
A state website has also been created to promote California business opportunities nationally and globally, www.business.ca.gov.
