This statement is completely false:

"If we thin our forests, science proves that we get more water yield," says TuCare President Mike Albrecht. "There's a real strong connection between forests and our watersheds."

There has been extensive research done that provides conclusive data indicating that forests increase the amount of annual precipitation by large amounts. Fog drip generated by the branches and leaves of trees help to recharge ground water. Shade provided by forests also help to improve against evaporated water loss, not to mention they provide protection against erosion which may pollute current watersheds. Even evapotransporation does not compare to the amount of ground water extracted by wells. Duh there is a real strong connection between forests and watersheds Mike, you just don't know what your talking about!
