Good job. I imagine that every road project in this county has had its detractors, but they still seem to use our roads to send and receive the goods and services they utilize.
Hopefully the third phase and the on-ramp project get fast-tracked so we can celebrate early completions for them as well.
I have to say that there is quite a splendid view down into the Valley from the elevated section, as one comes down the hill. Apart from that, it looks like it has always been there!
Same number of stoplights as before...fewer lanes but a great view of the valley on the way down.
Same number of stop lights, fewer lanes..... What exactly was the goal of this project again???
Fewer lanes than before
This will be interesting when when the roads ice up.
How does it look like it has always been there? They destroyed the landscape that was originally along Hwy 108 to build this thing. It is an eyesore and completely ruined the aspect of living in the mountains. And I agree with firesidedog - it will be interesting when the roads start icing up. It's hideous, ugly, and pointless to have.
And if you want a view of the valley go live there. Living in the mountains and the foothills, you should want a view of the trees and mountain tops, not the valley.
We should be calling it the "doesn't bypass"! what a waste!
So now the question is...What do we do about all the traffic from East Sonora to Willow Springs?
It's like driving across the surface of the Moon....*
